Fatigue almost always has a cause — poor sleep, low iron, illness, simply doing too much — and no supplement replaces finding it. The list below is ranked by how strong the evidence is for this specific goal, not by how well the product sells. A few things genuinely help; several bestsellers do not.

Popular for this goal — but the evidence says skip

  • B-Complex Limited evidence

    It corrects a B-vitamin deficiency and lowers homocysteine, but the evidence that it gives you energy if you already eat enough is limited.

  • Rhodiola Rosea Limited evidence

    The fatigue trials are small and mostly at high risk of bias, and the one rigorous depression trial was no better than placebo.

  • Nicotinamide Riboside Limited evidence

    It reliably raises NAD+ and then consistently fails to improve muscle, metabolic or physical-function outcomes in controlled trials.

  • D-Ribose Limited evidence

    Plausible mechanism, but controlled trials in trained people find no benefit and the fatigue data are open-label and uncontrolled.

  • Adrenal Support Formulas Limited evidence

    Adrenal fatigue is not a recognized condition, and testing found these products contained undeclared thyroid hormone.

  • Magnesium Malate Limited evidence

    A perfectly fine magnesium salt sold on a Krebs-cycle energy story that no blinded trial has actually supported.

Our verdict

Caffeine is the only thing that reliably makes you feel more alert today, and iron is the one that can fix the underlying problem — but only if your ferritin is genuinely low. Everything else is smaller, slower, or limited to one particular situation.
