Bladder Control Formulas
Blends built around pumpkin seed extract, sometimes with soy germ, hops or sumac, sold for urgency and night-time urination. The few human studies are small and mostly uncontrolled, so the benefit remains unproven.

What the science says
- Overactive bladder symptoms Limited evidence
An open-label study of pumpkin seed oil in people with overactive bladder reported lower symptom scores over 12 weeks. There was no placebo group, and urinary symptoms respond strongly to placebo.
- Combination pumpkin seed formulas Limited evidence
A multicentre non-interventional study of a Cucurbita pepo, Rhus aromatica and Humulus lupulus combination in women reported reduced overactive bladder symptoms. A non-interventional design cannot separate the product from natural fluctuation and expectation.
