Women's Probiotic Blend
Multi-strain blends sold for vaginal and urinary health. The evidence is reasonable for gynecological infections as an add-on to standard treatment and weak for preventing urinary tract infections.
Evidence last reviewed: August 2026
What the science says
- Adjunct in vaginal infections Moderate evidence
A meta-analysis pooling 35 randomized trials found that probiotics added to standard treatment improved cure and reduced recurrence in bacterial vaginosis and vulvovaginal candidiasis. Strains, doses and routes varied widely, so the finding does not identify which blend to buy.
- Preventing urinary tract infections Limited evidence
A systematic review and meta-analysis in premenopausal women suggested a reduction in recurrent urinary tract infections, but an earlier Cochrane review of probiotics for UTI prevention found no statistically significant benefit and rated the trials as poor quality.
